L&I interpreters deserve a union that is completely independent, and able to make its own decisions. A union that isn't controlled by/or affiliated to any other bigger and ineffective national or international bureaucratic bodies. A union that will keep their workers' dues money at the local level, and whose leaders are ethical and committed to improve the working conditions of all workers in their bargaining unit.

Upon winning the upcoming election, WA INTERPRETERS guarantees to be a transparent independent union. Our future union dues will be used responsibly, without paying for political campaigns. We will also hold democratic elections for our future members.  Our actual leaders are, and will be composed of real L&I interpreters, who will be accountable to their membership. It is all documented.
